God’s Offspring

God's Offspring

“For in Him we live and move and exist.
As some of your own poets have said,
‘We are His offspring.’ ”
Acts 17:28

I heard a song a few weeks back echoing our inheritance in Christ: Seein’ My Father in Me*.

I’m seein’ my father in me.
I guess that’s how it’s meant to be.
And I find I’m more and more like him each day.
I notice I walk the way he walks.
I notice I talk the way he talks.
I’m startin’ to see my father in me.

Although about an earthly father and son, shouldn’t these words be especially true of our relationship with our heavenly Father? Shouldn’t you see Him in yourself more with each passing day? It is no accident to be called a child of God. God, Himself, chose to be a Father to us. Not satisfied to stay distant, far off on His throne, Jehovah gets personal.

  • He loves you.
  • He corrects you.
  • He teaches you.
  • He embraces you.

He desires to raise you up as His own.

As you go through your day and week and year, keep an eye open. Take note of the life of God manifesting in unexpected moments. Not necessarily when everyone’s watching and you’re trying, but as subtle as seeing your mom’s smile when you glance in a mirror.

To walk like God.
To talk like God.
This is your destiny as His offspring.

How have you seen glimpses of your Father in yourself this week? Where would you like to see more of Him in your thoughts, words, or life? Share below…
