Donations for Prison Ministry

Books for donationIn February, 2013, I was invited by Merriann Forrest (H.S. Jeshua Ministries) to join a team of ladies to teach and lead worship for a 2-day retreat at the Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center (Idaho).  Merriann and her team have been ministering at PWCC on a weekly or bi-monthly basis for 10 years.

This first retreat was a wonderful time of healing, growth, and building relationship. Some of these ladies have life sentences; others will eventually be released. In both cases a door has been opened wide to sow seeds of truth, hope, love, and wisdom.

I donated 25 books to a group of very grateful ladies that first year. Since then, I have continued to participate in the annual 2-day retreat and have been blessed to give books each time. I love hearing testimonies of God’s presence and ministry in their lives through the truths the Holy Spirit taught me on my journey.

PWCC Retreat 2014 (Permission granted.)

This year we were given a larger space for the retreat and 60-75 ladies attended during the Friday and Saturday meetings. About a dozen ladies prayed to receive Jesus as their Savior and start their journey with Him. One lady asked for healing from a chronic breathing disorder so she wouldn’t have to leave the meeting to get a breathing treatment. She received immediate relief from the Holy Spirit and the doctor has now confirmed her lungs are 100%. She has not received any treatments since. Many others were prayed for and encouraged as we spent hours worshiping and learning together.

As the years go by, I receive an increasing number of requests for books, even after returning home. Biblical resources are important to help the ladies grow in faith and continue the journey as Jesus’ disciple. Your donation will help cover the cost of these gifts, not only for PWCC, but in many other facilities as God opens doors.

Thanks so much!
